Privacy Policy
Clatter, by Eibo Games · Last updated 20 September 2026
Clatter is free, plays offline, and asks for nothing to get started. There is no email address to give and no password to make.
Three things do leave your device: identifiers used for advertising and analytics, a record of how the game is played, and — only if you sign in — the save file behind your progress and the name you choose for the leaderboard. This page says exactly what each one is, who receives it, and how to have it erased.
Clatter is intended for players aged 13 and over.
Eibo Games ("we", "our", "us") publishes the mobile game Clatter (the "App"). This policy covers Clatter specifically. Our other titles are covered by the company-wide policy.
1. What you choose to give us
Nothing is required to play. The App has no registration form, and we never ask for your real name, email address, phone number or postal address.
Two things are optional and entirely in your hands:
- Signing in with Google Play Games. If you do, an account is created for you with Unity Gaming Services so your save can travel between devices. We receive an account identifier. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not receive your email address.
- A display name. The game invents one for you, such as "Swift Marble". If you change it, the name you type is stored with your save and shown next to your score on the leaderboard. Do not put anything in it you would not want other players to see.
If you email support, we receive whatever you put in that email and keep it only as long as it takes to answer you.
2. What is collected automatically
This is the same list we have filed on the App's Google Play data safety declaration.
| What | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Device and other identifiers | The Android advertising ID, an app-instance identifier used by analytics, and identifiers assigned by the advertising network. | Showing and measuring rewarded clips, counting distinct installs, and keeping the game working. |
| App interactions | Levels started and finished, whether a level was cleared, score, balls sorted, the mode played, and clips watched. | Understanding how boards actually play so difficulty and design can be improved. |
| User identifiers | The anonymous player id that owns your cloud save and your leaderboard entry. | Restoring your progress and placing your score on the board. |
| Your display name | The name shown beside your score. Optional, and invented for you if you never change it. | Making the leaderboard readable. |
| Technical and advertising data | Device model, operating system version, language, country, app version, ad requests, impressions and approximate location inferred from your IP address. | Delivering and measuring advertising and diagnosing problems. |
Your saved game — level, stars, bolts, tools, streak, settings and the cosmetics you own — is stored on your device, and also on Unity's servers if you are signed in. It is game state, not a profile about you.
The App does not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, files, messages, calendar or microphone, and requests no permission to reach any of them. Purchases run through Google Play Billing; payment details never reach us.
3. Why, and on what legal basis
Where the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation apply, these are the bases we rely on. Where a basis is consent, you can withdraw it at any time as described in section 5.
- Running the game, saving progress and restoring it on a new device — performance of a contract
- Placing a score and a name on a leaderboard — performance of a contract
- Answering your support emails — performance of a contract and our legitimate interest in supporting players
- Measuring how levels are played to improve difficulty and board design — legitimate interest, or consent where local law requires it for analytics
- Detecting fraud, invalid ad traffic and cheated scores — legitimate interest in protecting the game and its advertisers
- Showing advertising that is not personalised — legitimate interest in funding a free game
- Selecting, capping and measuring personalised advertising — consent
- Meeting legal obligations — compliance with a legal obligation
We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing advertising identifiers with an advertising network for personalised ads may still count as a "sale" or "share" under laws such as the CCPA; section 8 explains how to stop it.
4. Who receives it
The App includes software from the providers below. Each collects data under its own policy, and we do not control what they do with it.
- Unity Ads — the rewarded clips. There is no mediation layer and no second ad network. Unity privacy policy
- Unity Gaming Services — anonymous authentication, cloud save, leaderboards and the minimum-version check. Unity player privacy
- Google Firebase — analytics. Firebase privacy
- Google Play Games Services — the optional sign-in. Google privacy policy
- Google Play Billing — purchases, handled entirely by Google. Google privacy policy
- Google User Messaging Platform — the advertising consent screen shown in Europe and the UK. Google privacy policy
5. Advertising, and your choices
Advertising in Clatter is rewarded video and nothing else. A clip only ever plays because you pressed something asking for one — to refill a tool, to revive once in a level, to double an endless score, or to take bolts from the shop. There are no banners, nothing between levels, and nothing when you lose.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland a consent screen appears the first time you play. Whatever you choose there is respected, and you can reopen it at any time from the App's Settings screen under "Ads preferences".
Everywhere else, open Android Settings, then Privacy, then Ads, where you can delete or reset your advertising ID. Refusing personalised advertising never removes the option to watch a clip; it only makes the clips less relevant.
6. Where it goes and how long it is kept
Our providers operate globally, so data collected through the App may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Those transfers rely on an adequacy decision where one exists, and otherwise on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
- Analytics events — up to 14 months, then deleted or aggregated into figures that identify no device.
- Cloud saves — kept while your account exists, and deleted when you ask us to delete it.
- Leaderboard entries — held against your player id for as long as the board exists.
- Advertising identifiers and ad records — kept by the advertising network under its own policy, generally no more than 13 months for personalised advertising in Europe.
- Support emails — until your question is resolved, and up to 12 months afterwards in case you write again.
7. What stays on your device
Your progress is written to the device's own app storage: level, stars cleared, score, bolts, rewinds and hints, your daily streak and its date, your display name, the cosmetics you own, and your settings. Clearing the App's data or uninstalling it erases all of that immediately. If you are not signed in, it is gone for good, because we hold no copy.
Daily reminders, if you switch them on, are scheduled by your device. Nothing is sent to us or to a server to make them appear, and switching them off cancels them.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to take it elsewhere, and to withdraw consent. California residents may also ask what categories are collected and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing".
Most of these you can exercise yourself, immediately:
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings to break the link to past advertising records
- Reopen the consent screen from Settings to withdraw consent for personalised advertising
- Clear the App's data or uninstall it to erase everything held on the device
- Ask us to delete your account and its cloud save from the data deletion page
If you are signed in, your player id identifies your records. If you are not, there is no account to look up, and we need your advertising ID to find anything at all. Write to the address in section 12 for anything you cannot do yourself.
9. Children
Clatter is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, or under the equivalent age where they live. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us and we will delete it.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the age at which someone can consent for themselves to processing of this kind is set by each country and falls between 13 and 16. Below that age where you live, Clatter may be used only with a parent or guardian's permission, and the advertising choices in section 5 must be made by them. They may withdraw that permission at any time.
10. Security
Data travelling between the App and our providers is encrypted in transit. Saves and leaderboard entries are held by Unity Gaming Services under its own security controls, and we operate no database of our own. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. AI in development
Parts of the code and artwork were produced with the help of AI tools while the game was being built. The game itself has no AI features. Nothing you do in it is sent to an AI system, no player data is used to train one, and every asset ships fixed inside the app.
12. Changes, and how to reach us
We will update this policy as the game changes. Material changes to what is collected or who receives it are posted here with a new date before the version making that change is released.
